Appointment of Curators
- We assist with the Application at the High Court for the appointment of Curators for persons who are no longer able to partake in decisions relating to their finances and person.
- Once a person is no longer able to make his/her own decisions, any Power of Attorney or other Authorities to Act become void. The only way then to deal with such person’s assets and liabilities is to get a Curator appointed by the Master of the High Court.
- A curator bonis is a person (usually an attorney) appointed by the High Court to manage the financial interests and assets of a person who has been declared to be unable to do so. The reason for his/her inability could stem from mental or physical incapacity.
